Amphibians disappear ...

"Amphibians are one of the most threatened classes of animal kingdom (…). On the 32 French species, 18 are threatened at different degrees. Almost most of them deserved to be looked after as they are fragile and live on vulnerable natural habitats".

Acting for protecting biodiversity

Half time will be devoted to create or restore two ponds :

  • the first one is located on a property of the Conservatoire du Littoral (seashore Nature Trust for France), a protected and managed site,

  • the second one is located on a private property on the territory of Cotentin and Bessin marshes regional nature park

Discovering jobs linked to natural environment

The other half time is devoted to meet professionals of the management of natural spaces (forest rangers, river policeman, seashore warden, nature reserve agent…). They will speak about their job, their experience through the visit of the site they are in charge of

Having good time

These stays are also the opportunity to discover remarkable sites of la Manche , exceptional fauna and flora guided by specialists in flora, amphibians and reptiles. You will also meet people coming from France and different parts of the world. Since 2002, volunteers have been coming from England, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Quebec, Algeria or Morocco… to spend “useful” holidays in our company !

To whom are open these international nature
conservation works ?

These works are open to all adults (more than 18 years of age) wishing to spend "useful holidays" by acting directly to save amphibians, by getting involved more generally in nature protection, and improving their knowledge of environment with the persons in charge of the stay and qualified in environment.

This kind of experience enables to complete the learning of students in biology, geography or environment protection.

You wish to have more information to change your job or to know more about the management of natural sites, these conservation works are for you.
